   I have an HTC 10. I have heard so many horror stories on significant battery drain effect after the Oreo update and then I have not updated to Oreo yet. I take read somewhere the upshot has been resolved on Android'south terminate simply in that location is no more update on the HTC end to incorporate this update for the HTC ten. So every time the Oreo organization update prompt came up I did non allow to update to keep. I had it set to update only on WIFI and e'er ask me prior.

   I cannot find a way to cancel or terminate this download and subsequent update. Is at that place a way?

   I tried long press on the download screen, the Updater only has options of: Block all, Show silently, On the lock screen, Override exercise not disturb, all having to exercise with notification presentations merely nothing to abolish the download altogether.

   I went into Settings > Apps and popped up Device Configuration and did a Force Terminate. that didn't do anything. There is an pick there to UNINSTALL UPDATES only I didn't bear on it since the update hasn't started still and not sure if this app even bargain with system updates.

   Simply tried a Wipe Cache Partition and rebooted. The system download is all the same being queued. There is no mode to terminate this?

   I am surprise it will continue to download this huge file even with WIFI off. I had it set up to not download any updates unless WIFI, but I judge now I sympathise information technology means this is but checked when download started, once it started it will download on my cellular network if WIFI goes out of range? This is a poor design.

   Now if I permit it download, is there a fashion to stop the update once the download is completed?

   I went ahead and turned on WIFI to allow the downloading to consummate. In one case it completed it asked me most installing with 2 options:

   Install Now
   Install Later

   I selected Install Afterward and it gave me a option of being reminded again in:

   30 minutes
   1 hour
   two hours
   4 hours

   So I selected 4 hours and dismissed it for now. It will ask again in 4 hours, I assume there is no way to dismiss it for a calendar month or a year.

   And so now I take 2 questions:

   (1) Is in that location a way to disable this reminder prompt?
   (two) Where is this downloaded file? Can I observe it with a file manager and delete it? and if it is deleted will it trigger an auto download again or will information technology become back to only prompting me to download once in a while like before?

My LG V20 has a couple of organization apps that are chosen "System Updates," and strength closing them stops me from being prompted to update.
